The basics, on quiet streets
Starting, stopping, steering and slow turns where there is almost no traffic to worry about.
One-to-one lessons with Stacey in her own car, for learners working towards an automatic licence. No gears to think about, so you can concentrate on the road.

Starting, stopping, steering and slow turns where there is almost no traffic to worry about.
Gap selection, lane changes, roundabouts and the intersections you will meet on the test route.
Reverse parallel, angle parking and three-point turns, broken into steps rather than taught all at once.
Rain, dusk and busier roads, added only once the basics are steady.
A drive-thru, for one — a tight turn in, a kerb you cannot see, and stopping with your window level with the person serving you. The test never asks for it, so we do it anyway, and your first soft serve or slushie is on Stacey.

In Australia, passing your test in an automatic gives you a licence for automatic vehicles only. Passing in a manual lets you drive both. If you are sure you will only ever drive an automatic, learning in one is quicker and usually less stressful.
If you want the manual licence but find clutch control daunting, some learners start in an automatic and add manual lessons in your own car later.
