What we collect when you get in touch or book a lesson, and what happens to it.

First Choice Driving School Adelaide (ABN 98 512 269 936) is a one-person driving school run by Stacey. In this policy, “we” means the business and “you” means anyone who visits this website, contacts us or books a lesson.

What we collect

When you use the contact form: your name, mobile number, and anything else you choose to give us: your suburb, email address, the kind of lesson you want, the times that suit you, and your message.
When you book online: the details the booking form asks for, such as your name, contact details and the lesson you chose. Bookings are taken through Bookeo, and card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
When you call or text: your number and whatever you tell us, so we can arrange your lessons.
During your lessons: details we need to teach you and keep your logbook up to date, such as your learner’s permit details and your progress.
When you visit the website: how the site is used, collected by Google Analytics with cookies. It tells us things like which pages are read and roughly where visitors are, not who you are. Our website host also keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, book and run your lessons, take payment, keep your logbook records and, if you ask us to, book your driving test. We use the website data to see which pages help people and to improve the site.

We don’t sell your information, we don’t send newsletters, and we don’t pass your details to anyone for marketing.

Who else handles it

A few services handle information on our behalf:

Bookeo, for online bookings, and Stripe, for card payments.
An email delivery service, which passes contact form messages to Stacey.
Google Analytics, for website statistics.
Vercel, which hosts this website.

Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We also share your details with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport when you ask us to book a driving test for you, or when the law requires it.

Cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies to tell one visit from another. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on.

Keeping it safe

We keep your information only for as long as we need it to teach you, meet our legal and tax obligations, and answer any questions about past lessons.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we don’t need to keep it. Call or text Stacey on 0421 557 044.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first on 0421 557 044 and we’ll try to put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
